Long Dong Silver is the pseudonym of a retired African-British pornographic actor.

Long Dong Silver, born Daniel Arthur Mead in 1960 in London, England.

He appeared in several pornographic movies in the UK and US during the late 1970s and early 1980s, famed for the apparent size of his penis (18 inches).

However, it was later revealed that his penis size was a fabrication that Daniel Mead had help in making from his photographer Jay Myrdal:
Years before silicone boobies, this late 1970s British porn star was enhanced with an 18" latex foam penis, one of the makeup artists for the film, "The Elephant Man", created the prosthetic by utilizing a flexible foam latex sleeve that was placed over Mead’s penis and glued down to his pubes in order for him to pose during photo shoots.

His debut film was the low-budget, "Sex Freaks", released in 1979, in which he co-starred with, Vicki Scott.

In 1982, he appeared with the legendary, Seka, in "Beauty and The Beast", shot in America.

His name is a reference to Long John Silver.

He received new fame in the wake of allegations of sexual harassment during the Clarence Thomas confirmation hearings in the US Senate in 1991, as Anita Hill alleged that Thomas had mentioned to her that he was a viewer of Long Dong Silver's films.

His head is also pictured in an episode of the show, "Futurama", entitled "A Head In The Polls".
