"Thoughts about pain"

Its a general notion that if we go through suffering and physical pain then our system will be purified. This idea is not founded upon reality.

We shall not welcome pain; we shall try to conquer pain if it appears. If we can take pain as an experience, then we will be able to transform it into joy by our own identification with joy, which we then try to bring into the pain itself. By our Pleasure.

We know physical pain, vital pain and mental pain. But there is also psychic pain. On the ordinary human level, we get psychic pain when someone whom we are attached leaves us. But on the spiritual level, psychic pain is an inner pain, a sense of supreme loss, the feeling that our beloved supreme, for whom we are crying, is still far away.

There are some people who feel that pain is indispensable. If we invite or invoke pain just to make us conscious of our Reality, then our progress will be very slow. Mistakes as Adersity makes you dynamic. Adversity forces your eyes wide open. Adversity teaches you the meaning of patience. Adversity endows you with faith in yourself. Adversity opens the secret door through which you can see the sense which will bring you closer to wisdom of life.

I changed my mind and believe its wrong to think that pain is a well-deserved punishment. To think that pain is an unavoidable heritage of Karma is worse. To think that pain can never be overcome is worst of all. I look at pain as a momentary experience of one s limited self, before entering into the deepest sea of Bliss.

I think everyone has a different way of perceiving pain. To some, it can be a source of fun and to others, a matter of suffering.
i would rather be neutral depending upon the various perspectives.
A chaqu'un, ca facon.

Physical pain, does cause chemical action in the brain. Those chemical reactions and be voluntarily redirect in and also involuntary reactions done by the brain to induce a coping reaction. Which, we to a degree can control into those joyful moments we deem as pleasurable. With practice, those chemical releases can more often be channeled into that more enjoyable coping mechanism of chemical releases. We do not have do quite the same with that inner mental and/or spiritual pain.

well said! this is especially insightful: "If we can take pain as an experience, then we will be able to transform it into joy by our own identification with joy, which we then try to bring into the pain itself. "

Very wise thoughts. The kind of pain you refer to is something to be transformed, not something to be inflicted or welcomed.

Well written and deeply thought out. But reflecting the brain responds to positive pain to build the release of satisfaction. There is no greater organ of pleasure and release than the brain.
