His gift

It was my lover's birthday recently and I'd wracked my brains for ages for an interesting gift for him. I like to give unusual presents, something different from a pair of socks, a bottle of wine or a weekend away. So, after a lot of searching, I settled on some shibari tuition from a wonderfully talented lady.

He's pretty good (in my opinion at least) at tying people up but it's all self taught and I thought it would be fun for both of us to get some professional input. We've been to various shibari events and the performances put on have been really interesting (aka erotic) to watch. And I, of course, enjoy him tying me up and having his wicked way with me.

So this weekend, I found myself:

- dangling up side down from a shibari ring from one leg with my arms bound behind my back.

- suspended sideways with my arms and legs bent and bound behind me.

- sat with my crossed legs bound, my arms tied behind me, my torso bent forwards and tied so I couldn't sit up with a rope around my neck (safety did feature highly in her tuition for those who worry) and my ponytail attached via rope to a shibari ring so my head was held high.

And, oh my goodness, do I ache today! Being inverted with all your body weight being supported by ropes solely around one thigh really bloody hurts. I also went bright red within seconds from all the blood rushing to my head.

I was upside down for no more than five minutes and off the ground for about fifteen. How those who perform professionally manage to do it so gracefully and without grimacing I don't know. So massive respect to those who make it look so easy.

Perhaps it's a question of practice makes perfect. We'll see as there are loads of things we want to put into practice at home. His enthusiasm for ropes has definitely been heightened from the experience. Maybe some pics will follow. Perhaps of me in a neck brace when it all goes horribly wrong

What have you seen that looks so easy but isn't in reality when you come to try it?

I'd say you came up with a very practical gift......something both of you can share in. Yeah, that hanging upside down for awhile.....I can feel the blood rushing to my head just thinking about it

I'm sure we'll enjoy the learning a lot together in the future. It was amazing to see (and feel) someone so practised in the art doing their thing and taking inspiration from them.

Let's hope you avoid the neck brace. Otherwise, it seems like a great gift. I wouldn't mind getting a gift like that myself. I'm sure my technique could use some work. Finding the time when we both can attend a lesson together, however, makes it impractical.

I hope the gift results in some great pics.

Mmmm! Brilliant gift. I'd be interested to know more (I have no doubt that a novice like me could learn a great deal). I'm probably not ready for full suspension techniques but some confidence with ropes would be good to acquire.

I know what you speak of as I use an inversion table. It's very difficult to be on there for more than a few minutes, especially in bare feet. All of my weight is on the top of my feet.
The one thing that looks easy is trying to fuck her when she's face down ass up. My thighs get sore very quickly and that distracts my erection in the worst way.

What looks easy but isn't when you come to try it?

Doing anything competitively; swimming, running, cycling, tennis, squash, football (soccer!) ... everything you can think of sport-wise, a pro will make look effortless while I will struggle, even pool and darts!

Doing anything non-competitively; gymnastics, climbing, skiing, snowboarding, surfing, windsurfing, golf, parcour. playing a musical instrument, writing a book, writing a poem.. again the list is almost endless.

I think I'd rephrase the question; is there anything which looks easy that actually is?

Pictures would very much be appreciated

Double penetration with me using a strap-on proved a little tricky but less so when I gave in and just lied there but then the weight of two people on me started to prove problematic too so that position didn't last too long

I've not landed on my head so far! Pics to follow when he finally gets round to sending them on

She had a few basic ties that could be adapted for almost anything. You'd be a master in no time!

Ha, yes, that's uncomfortable too!

Yes, a much better question...nothing that I've come across yet

I must chase him up as they are on his camera!

That is a tricky one, practice makes perfect.
