ken burn's series on vietnam

I'm actually looking forward to the new ken burn's series of documentaries on the vietnam war. it airs on pbs in september.

I will be the first to admit that my actual knowledge of this war is lacking. So It will interesting to see a more personal detailed look at the war.

I was a fan of the civil war and the base ball documentaries that he produced..

Thanks, Leo ! I was in high school during the Vietnam war and had an uncle that was drafted. He made it home safe. I belong to the Ladies Aux at both the VFW and American Legion here locally. I've heard many stories about the war but I'll definitely be interested in the documentaries.

Another thing I like about ken burns is he isn't agenda driven..he isn't gonna pull an oliver stone on you. No magic bullets.. oliver stone was such an asshat to further than notion by the way..

Plus I have a strange feeling that most of this will be from soldier's perspectives instead of say the medias or counter cultures( this is basically how I know the vietnam war)

I grew up between these generations.. my dad fought in ww2...I was too young to know anyone that fought in vietnam...non of my relatives fought in it..
so all I know of the war if through tv/movies/ etc.
