2. Millions of ocean goers sailing East from America have heard Fastnet announce landfall.
3. One of the primary proofs of the rogue wave phenomenon because in 1985, during calm (non-storm) conditions, the lighthouse was struck with a wave that measured 157 feet in height.
4. Perhaps by divine coincidence, the focal point of the light is 159 feet above water.
5. With a luminousity of 2,500 kilocandelas (a 60 watt light bulb has 135 lm), Fastnet can be seen at a distance of 27 nautical miles (50 kilometres).

 I could live there, given three wenches, a fishing line, two stills (one for water,one for rum) and no mobile phone. In fact I think thats my version of 72 virgins... one to polish the light, one to make the rum, one to make sammiches.... and i can go fishing lol

That! is inspiring. Find 3 more, and I'll play the guitar and sing all day ... maybe even bring a nice piano on the ship with me. I request one of mine have night-black hair with glow-in-the-dark white skin.
