Fascinating post.....

Will eat out more then normal.....but also not high end. Very few rings or anything like that....clothes, enough to get by.

More invested in a decent computer/iPad ....a better car...not spectacularly upscale but more on the super reliable side vs excessive bling. Tools for the shop are on the better end...and yes books.....love real books. Some other hobby spending.

Indulge? Whiskey, cigars, watches, and suits/shirt/ties. Yep, in that order....well, not quite that order.

I have only purchased 2 rolls of paper towels in the last year and am less than halfway through the second.. Yes, my house is clean, but I prefer to use rags.. a couple thrown in with other laundry.. in a way it is environmental and in a way, also grew up poor and very rural. When you live a long way from the store, you don't go very often.

I have a good stock of staples, but as I live alone I don't shop much for food..

Car is 10 years old and I paid cash.. I rent a converted attic apartment on hobby farm, it is run down but cozy.. rent is a pittance and includes utilities..

Most of my clothes are second hand, except shoes to me that is a little creepy so I buy clearance and save them for the next season.. my splurges are on craft beer and fishing gear.. and even those treats are rare.. I just started my own business so though I have always lived frugally I have stepped it up even more.. and I have a daughter headed to college soon...

Let yourself be silently drawn by the strange pull of what you really love. It will not lead you astray.

I tend to splurge on other people when they least expect it. It makes me happy to see their delight. These days, I splurge on shower heads and stuff to fix up our house. I splurge on foodstuffs, really good ingredients, candles and books. I'm frugal when it comes to spending on people that EXPECT me to spend on them. Nothing locks up my wallet more than unwarranted expectation.

Ok so I am cheap on a lot of things, poor kid syndrome I have the pantry stocked and I'd rather buy a nice pack of steaks than a new pair of shoes.

I think I might win the "oldest vehicle" my suv is 17 years old and although Pet has repeatedly tried to talk me into a newer car I don't want the payment and my truck still runs. Ok so the timing chain is going to go and if it does the engine will seize but he's been saying it's going to go any day for like 3 years. Even if it does die it's more likely I'll spend minimal money and just replace the engine and still not buy a new car. The flip side of that is Pet drives a fancy ass denali, he's a spoiled monkey. It matters to him and it doesn't matter to me so he gets new trucks regularly and I've been driving the same one for ever.

I like real jewelry but I have enough, haven't bought any new in over 10 years. The only name brand thing I can think of that really matters to me is my Sketchers because good tennis shoes are important when you are standing around cutting leather and running up and down the stairs. But it's not really about the name it's because of the way they fit I will pay full price for them because cheap shoes make my feet hurt.

I've become more frugal over the past years. Rarely buy me anything new. That 'must have' impulse has flatlined. I have become a finger waver when it comes to leaving the a/c on when no one is home. NY electric rates are insane and I'd rather not have a big bill every summer month. That's the only bill that can fluctuate a lot, so do due with out the surprise every month is way better for me.

I do like to go out to dinner on occasion. Nothing high-end, just a good meal. Since all my kids work, there is a good chance one of them will pay at least my end of the bill. "thanks kids'

funny I have 2 friends that can squeeze a dime out of a nickel, so hanging with them I usually reap the benefits..coupons and such.. win-win.

I'm spoiled when it comes to things like travel. Being single and owning my home affords me the luxury of dining out, going to the theater and my favorite.....travel.

I grew up in a mid class household with three siblings with me being the oldest.....there was always someone to share with. Now I share with those I love and feel an attachment to not those I'm related to.....

Hmm, lets see, i dont have the "female must have" gene... so that is a relieve....

I hate shopping.

I am not interested in hair/clothes accessoires or jewellery, nailpolish and all that stuff.

I have some special BDSM jewellery, special made for me, that was expensive, but worth it, too.
A proud owner of those jewellery.

i spend money on nice good brand shoes, boots too.
I have a fetish for really slutty nice lingerie... but i dont wear that daily...
a soft sportsbra will do...

i buy a lot second hand, also my girlfriends and i, exchange clothes, so i always have something new in my closet.
coats i fancy very much, i have a collection of all kind of coats.
I go by bike, so i need good all weather coats, i dont mind spending good money on those...
i love hats.....
Plus the guys from that hat shop are sooo charming, so friendly, nice... sighs...
I feel so at home, with those men.. i can relax there....i feel at ease....

I used to cut my own hair, but i have found a hairdresser who can cut curly hair really good, so i go to her, once in a while... she is not really expensive.
I dye my hair.

i try to live a modest life, i dont like all that big spender behaviour...

Before it was considered "sexy" i already did all kinds of recycling; paper, glass, battery, clothes, metal...

I am very conscious about the use of electrical device in my house, or letting lights on, or electric plugs on.
I even recycle water... yes, i am thát crazy!
I have a garden, i eat mostly what is growing in there...
I am aware of our ecological footprint on this planet, of wich there is only 1...

Ah, books! yes that is a bit of a challenge... most of the time i lend them from friends, or again 2e hand...

Clothes, i like to wear them till they fall off my body....
I am not at all interested in Fashion, i never was.
I know what looks good on my bodytype.

I love to travel, only in summer, go to a warm climate; South Portugal.... or visit some family, a munch now and again....

Possesion dont mean that much to me, i dont identify myself by my belongings....
Healthy Good food is important for me.
i phone and laptop, not the latest model.

Theater, movies, going out for dinner, or lunch, sometimes with my friends.

Although i rather cook them a nice dinner, at home, were we can talk out loud about BDSM stuff and be more relaxed,
without that waiter around us all the time.....
